Weddings Abroad

Over 38,000 overseas marriage records have been added to the existing collection of overseas civil registration records available at BMDRegisters.co.uk, which were previously only available on microfilm at The National Archives. These records cover British subjects who married abroad, including records of British soldiers in France, Holland and Flanders around the time of the First World War. Many of these had been Prisoners of War. Also included are register from British churches abroad.
